Tides Center For Counselling & Health
My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for people as they discover new paths to engage and connect in healthy, more constructive ways. I consult with individuals, youth, couples, and families on communication, anxiety, trauma, parenting, and more specifically, perinatal trauma (infertility, birth trauma, reproductive loss). My therapeutic approaches include Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (pending certification), Family Systems, and Birth Trauma Resolution Therapy (BTR).
Governing Body: Member of The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta. Associated member of the Canadian Association of Couples and Family Therapy. Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Certified Professional Counsellor.
Originally from Belfast, I bring my background in midwifery, nursing, and therapy to support individuals and families through trauma recovery.

“Trauma is not what happens to you; trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.” – Gabor Mate
“People cannot put traumatic events behind until they’re able to acknowledge what has happened & start to recognize the invisible demons they’re struggling with.” – Bessel Van Der Kolk. M.D.
“Trauma is anything that overwhelms the brain’s ability to cope.” – Unknown
Perinatal trauma is any trauma experienced during your reproductive experience – from infertility, to miscarriage, stillbirth, negative birth experiences, even if deemed a “normal birth.”
I believe change begins within individuals before causing a ripple effect within the family system. We cannot change anyone else, just ourselves. Change starts with us!
Counselling is challenging but very rewarding when individuals engage and walk through the process, noticing what they are experiencing. We can’t change what we don’t know!
